Family Comes to Celebrate Nick's Graduation!

Last week, my parents Carol & Duane were here from Oregon, as well as my sister-in-law Sheila, my brother Michael and his daughter Kayla.  All were here to celebrate Nicks graduation.  The graduation was a success (Nick was very tickled with all his guests from out of town and within.)

Dad was a real trooper.  Driving all the way from Oregon to Colorado just to see the Grandson graduate and then drive back.  More than a week away from home and most of it on the road - yet, he is still smiling! Way to go Dad!  He even stopped in Wyoming to meet and shake the hand of the Wyoming Governor, another Freudenthal!

Mom, on the other hand, stitched her way here, stitched while she was here, and stitched her way back to Oregon.  I don't think I saw her often without something in her hand to work on.

We quilted (or tried to at least) two quilts on Bella.  Mom even ran some of the basting stitches.

This was a special quilt mom made at a retreat.  However, mom wasn't satisfied, so she made a second one, different colors, which she left for me to quilt.  In addition, she had the brown bear quilt for us to quilt.  That was a challenge, as I had not yet learned how to stitch in the ditch yet.  So, on the fly, we learned......She was a good sport letting me learn.....

Mom shopping the "almost" store.....I can't remember what the count was, but 1 yard cuts of wonderful fabrics to play with!  She is already making cool things we might get to show off in the store! Wait till you all see her potholders!!

Don't let her fool you, she was not the first to get her fabric cuts.....we leave that to Linda Lilly, who has been madly making fun samples for the store.  Here she is shopping, and then cutting.....

Go Linda!!!!!
